Toybox REVIEW: JoyToy TMNT Shredder

Even though JoyToy’s Warhammer 40,000 range has been incredibly expansive, when the company revealed they would also be tackling the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1/18 scale fans still probably weren’t prepared for just how many characters they planned to release. Since the release of the main four Turtles the line has successfully dived into the realm of villains and side-characters, naturally starting with their greatest foe – the leader of the Foot Clan himself, the Shredder. JoyToy TMNT Shredder is another interesting release that clearly has design cues from previous iterations of the character, but also a fresh take unique to this toy line.

Originally founded in 2015, Chinese company JoyToy have been making for themselves across the globe in the last few years with their very impressive (and continually growing) selection of Warhammer 40,000 figures. In 2024 they began to expand their repertoire with another big-name franchise that it seems every toy company wants a piece of these days – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Naturally JoyToy TMNT Donatello was one of the first figures to be released in the range alongside his brothers, but in the months since the line has continued to expand to feature villains, supporting characters and plenty more to come!

Toybox REVIEW: Transformers Collaborative 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Transformers' Party Wallop

Featuring everything from the likes of Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and Jurassic Park to the Universal Monsters and Stranger Things, the Transformers Collaborative line has made quite the name for itself over the past few years. But amongst all the possibilities for where Hasbro could go next with the line, as much as it was probably on people's wish lists Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles probably didn't seem like the most likely candidate. However with both the Robots in Disguise and the Heroes in a Half Shell both currently celebrating their 40th anniversaries, the timing really couldn't be better for Transformers Collaborative 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Transformers' Party Wallop. This latest collaboration gives fans a Transformers take on the Turtles' iconic Party Wagon, with a few extra surprises thrown in as well.

Toybox REVIEW: Power Rangers x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Lightning Collection Morphed Shredder

One of the biggest delights of the Power Rangers comics from Boom! Studios has been the opportunity for them to crossover with other heroes previously thought limited to the realms of fan fiction – including the likes of Godzilla and the Justice League. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles however they have some history with though, with Power Rangers in Space having previously crossed over with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. This six-part comic series though saw the heroes in a half shell meet the original Mighty Morphin rangers, with the Turtles themselves even getting the opportunity to morph. To mark this fusion of childhood icons, Hasbro produced a series of Power Rangers x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Lightning Collection figures – consisting of three two pack sets (featuring the four turtles, April O'Neill and a Foot Clan Tommy Oliver) and a deluxe Morphed Shredder figure. This figure is based on Shredder after he has harnessed the powers of the Dragon Coin to transform into his own twisted version of the Green Ranger.
