Didn't we see this figure back in August last year? Well yes, we did - only know we can enjoy S.H. Figuarts Akiba Yellow in glorious Akibaranger Season 2 edition! Yumeria Moegi is back, newly married and now going by her real name of Yuko Yokoyama . Once again Akiba Yellow has been lucky enough to receive a mass release, only this time sharing the same July 2013 release month as Akiba Blue  rather than coming a month later. Akiba Yellow follows the same packaging pattern as the previous two releases from Akibaranger Season 2 , featuring plenty of images of the "new" costume. As promised, I can now also give a vague idea of what the text printed on the box says! While I still don't have any idea what it says specifically, my Japanese-speaking friend has informed me that Red and Blue's were descriptions of their characters, so I assume the same can be said here. One of the best things about the Akibaranger girls is how Blue and Yellow aren't...

Tamashii Nations must be pretty bold when it comes to the Akibaranger S.H. Figuarts.  Not only are the original Akiba Blue and Yellow figures the only Sentai girls to have received a mass release in the line, but almost a year later they're getting released again . They aren't quite the same figures though, as these are in fact Season Tsuu (or 2 depending on your opinions on Japanese puns). So you're not buying another Mitsuki Aoyagi, in fact you're getting the first S.H. Figuarts representation of Luna Iwashimizu ! Since it's Akibaranger merchandising the packaging is all sunshine and rainbows (well, the latter certainly) - a colourful explosion with Luna displaying one of her trademark idol-in-training poses on the front. The window features more Japanese writing, different from that included on Super Akiba Red 's packaging. Unfortunately I still have no idea what it says - maybe I'll work it all out in time for the S2 Akiba Yellow review...

There's always one silver lining to Hikōnin Sentai Akibaranger finishing - it's a sign that the latest onslaught of new Super Sentai S.H. Figuarts is incoming! Much like last year, season 2 of Akibaranger has already announced a veritable selection of both official and unofficial heroes for collectors from the end of June and beyond. To kick things off Akiba Red is back with a brand new figure, representing the Super Akiba Red mode he gains in fourth episode of the second season. Continuing the theme started with the season one Akibaranger  figures, Super Akiba Red's packaging is delightfully garish in all of its rainbow glory. The layout is a little different with the new season two logo adorning the front, and the "unofficial" stamp on the window has been replaced with some red Japanese text (although I have no idea what it says). I really like the lengths Bandai go to to make the Akiba packing look good...even the silver backing card on the inside h...
